COMPLETE BALL PYTHON SETUP INSTRUCTIONS
STEP 1: Empty the tub of all items.

STEP 2: Take the thermostat out of the box and remove the suction cup from the silver thermostat probe.

STEP 3: Remove the heat mat from it’s packaging. Do not remove the white adhesive backing.

STEP 4: Flip over the heat mat and remove the white adhesive backing.

STEP 5: Adhere/place your thermostat silver probe in the center of your heat mat, on the sticky side.

STEP 6: Remove the backing from the foil tape and tape down your probe leaving ¼ to ½ of the tip of the silver probe exposed.

STEP 7: Attach your heat mat, with the secured thermostat silver probe, to the outside bottom of the tub. Run the mat horizontally on either short side of the tub. The heat mat should cover approximately half of the bottom of the tub. This will ensure that your ball python will have a temperature gradient in the enclosure.

STEP 8: Plug in the heat mat power cable into the thermostat.

STEP 9: Plug the thermostat into the wall.

STEP 10: Set the thermostat by holding down the yellow “set” button until the display starts to blink. Then use the up or down arrows to select the desire temperature. We recommend that you initially set the thermostat to 94 degrees.

STEP 11: Place your desired substate and hide in the enclosure. The hide should be placed directly over the heat mat. The water bowl needs to be on the cool side of the tub.

STEP 12: Wait at least 30 minutes and then remove the hide. Check the internal temperature of the substrate directly above the heat mat, using a temperature gun. Now, point the laser directly over the substrate that is covering the heat mat. Your goal is to have at least one spot of the substrate covering the heat mat, to read 90-92 degrees.

STEP 13: Replace the hide.

STEP 14: If your temperature is not within the desired range, adjust your thermostat and wait an additional 30 minutes.

STEP 15: Repeat step 12.

STEP 16: Once you have reached the optimal temperature range, fill your water dish at least halfway. Then place the water dish on the cool side of the enclosure.

STEP 17: You are now ready to introduce your ball python to it’s new enclosure.
